Editor

Stratfor, a RANE Company, is seeking an editor who will be responsible for reviewing and editing publications telegraphing our geopolitical analysis.  In this position, you will edit and review bulletins on breaking news, as well as well as in depth assessments of geopolitical events, security threats, military incidents, economic trends, and other emergent developments. Other tasks will include editing tailored client reports and forecast documents. Successful candidates will work within Stratfor's intelligence analysis department, reviewing, and editing multiple analytic products. Product types include short dispatches for publication from conventional news feeds, proprietary intelligence flows, as well as assessment information from our global network of risk experts in multiple functional, geographic, and regulatory issues.

Successful candidates will be skilled editors familiar with international affairs, geopolitical risk, or intelligence analysis. Degrees and academic backgrounds in international affairs and/or journalism as well as a solid familiarity with AP style guidelines are preferred. Editing experience is crucial as is demonstrable intellect, curiosity and eagerness to work as part of a fast-paced, multi-cultural, multi-lingual team. Writing instructional experience is a plus.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to partner with colleagues across the broader RANE organization and gain exposure to a range of industries and risk topics, including cyber and information; physical safety and security; and legal, regulatory, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Copy and Style Editing in line with AP and Stratfor style guidelines
  • Participation in production planning meetings
  • Advisor in analytic writing planning sessions
  • Providing editorial support for client projects
  • Assist in teaching Stratfor writing guidance to new analysts
  • Posting content to Stratfor and RANE websites as required

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Superior command of the English language 
  • Editing, copyediting and/or proofreading experience in print and/or digital media
  • Familiarity with global affairs and current events
  • Passionate interest in geopolitical analysis
  • Demonstrated expertise in analytic writing and analytic synthesis
  • Ability to teach and review when giving feedback on drafts
  • Must conform writing to company editorial guidelines, familiarity with AP Style is preferred

  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across multiple internal teams and stakeholders; flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements are critical

Qualifications

Global Security Analyst

As a member of Stratfor's core team of analysts, you will be responsible for developing high-quality and forward-looking analysis related to corporate security, business continuity, cybersecurity, organized crime, and global terrorism. Analysts are responsible for ensuring that a broad range of clients are well served by proactively identifying critical crime, terrorism and business continuity issues while conducting deeper research on key topics to include terror and criminal attack cycles, and cyber-attack tactics. Stratfor Threat Lens helps corporate security leaders identify, anticipate, measure and mitigate risks that emerging threats pose to their people, assets and interests around the world. Clients rely on Threat Lens to pinpoint which evolving global events are truly significant so they can save time and make decisions with confidence. 

Analysts also play a critical role in the Stratfor forecasting process and production of the Geopolitical Risk Index and Geopolitical Risk Monitor.  Analysts have direct engagement with clients supporting inbound geopolitical inquiries while providing briefings.

Global Security Analysts will have the opportunity to partner with colleagues across the broader RANE organization and gain exposure to a range of industries and risk topics, including geopolitical; cyber and information; physical safety and security; and legal, regulatory, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research and analysis leveraging open source, as well as proprietary content/ data sets, and in-house subject matter experts 
  • Daily production of analytic content for distribution to Threat Lens client base
  • Regular contributions to longer-form analytic pieces
  • Active participation in quarterly, annual, and 10-year forecasting process
  • Conducting RANE Expert interviews on key topical issues, as an input to content pieces or client inquiries 
  • Participating in calls to support current and potential Threat Lens clients.

Marketing Associate


RANE is looking for a Marketing Associate to join our growing team in Boston, MA, or Austin, TX. This role will help design and execute marketing and sales initiatives that drive efficient lead generation and enhance sales results. The Marketing Associate is responsible for managing RANE’s web properties and social media channels, creating and designing compelling content, and supporting sales lead generation activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage website content and social media channels. Regularly post content to website, blog, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages and track engagement. Develop engaging social media content that increase followers and subscriptions. Continuously look for ways to enhance design, functionality, and usability. 
  • Drive conversion through targeted email marketing campaigns using marketing automation tools, including gathering or designing images, email setup, and deployment. Create and test A/B email campaigns and analyze results. Write email copy derived from existing content. Create and optimize campaign landing pages.
  • Design and develop prospect and client communications. Develop and implement promotional campaigns and work closely with business development team on lead follow-up. Create content, design communications, and track engagement. 
  • Assist in delivering virtual and live events, including podcasts, webinars, and in-person events. Manage webinar platform logistics and on-site branding and registrations. Coordinate sponsored participation in industry conferences.
  • Provide sales support and assist in executing marketing programs.    

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business administration
  • 2-years of experience in a marketing or related role
  • Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce or Hubspot)
  • Experience with social media posting and scheduling tools (Hootsuite or Salesforce Social)
  • Graphic design ability a plus (InDesign or AdobeSuite)
  • Experience with Google Analytics and HTML 
  • Familiar with latest sales and marketing tools/approaches/trends across channels
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and across functions
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly; displays eagerness to learn and develop
